He is such an angsty character (which we just have to stan) and he is just one of those characters that you instantly want to hug and you hope they are forever happy. He’s such swoony hero, and I loved seeing him come to terms with his past and sort of embrace it as a part of himself. Zafir is this amazing, kind, wonderful character, who teaches boys about toxic masculinity and who reads romance novels to cope with his grief. She is such a loveable, easy-to-root-for heroine, and I loved her whole character arc and her learning to trust Zaf and herself.
I feel like Hibbert excels at creating these real, flawed, authentic characters, and Dani is a perfect example of that. Her struggles and guilt about putting her career first, but at the same time wanting to dedicate every bit of energy to her work resonated so deeply with me. Danika is a force of nature, and I relate to her so much. Seriously, this book was SO GOOD.ĭani Brown is definitely one of my new favorite characters ever, and I don’t say that lightly. I would like to take this moment to say thank you to Talia Hibbert for blessing us constantly with the most wonderful characters and romances. The two of them are just friends, but after a video of them goes viral, they decide to fake date to help Zafir’s organization. YES, they are in fact the two greatest characters to grace the genre and literature in general. Take a Hint, Dani Brown follows Dani Brown, a fierce, no-bullshit, no emotions academic (and a witch) and Zafir Ansari, ex-rugby player, who teaches classes about toxic masculinity through sports with young boys. I am happy to report that Talia Hibbert can do no wrong and this book was just as marvelous as her other ones! If you have yet to pick up a Talia Hibbert book, consider this your much-needed push to do so.
Also, I really enjoyed Get a Life, Chloe Brown and I love a good Romance series, so I was excited for the second book about the Brown sisters (and I am also super excited for the third!). I adore Talia Hibbert, she is one of my favorite authors, and I am always hyped for all of her releases. Take a Hint, Dani Brown was one of my most anticipated releases of the year.
